Join me for a cup of tea, please. The water was heated over the fire near the Sutler’s tent and under the same skies that cover a bloody battlefield. We’ll sit in the shadow of the tent and talk to the kitten.
I hope you enjoy this step back in time to a weary day during the American Civil War where the characters are near the bloody spots of the battle for Richmond and Petersburg, Virginia. Where there was more than a quick battle — the situation is described as a siege.
In my newest endeavor, The Sutler of Petersburg, there are not a lot of characters, but they are all significant. Is the money grubbing, sly sutler, Tucker D, more than he seems to be? He is joined by a small group of soldiers from the Irish Brigade who are part of a larger army which is trying to regroup and move to the next fighting place. This group is made up of a family of brothers with Irish heritage.
As Tucker D’s story and his true task for this encounter become clear, one of the characters fulfills a special story and true incident from the Civil War. How will this special character fit into the tasks that Tucker D. must accomplish?
The Sutler of Petersburg is Volume 1 in Murray Pura’s Let Freedom Ring…a new series begun after the exceptional popularity of the earlier Cry of Freedom series that Murray Pura organized. Helping Hands Press released the story just a few days ago. It is available for your Kindle on Amazon for only 99¢ and has been ranking high. You will find links in the sidebar and on the Buy Books Here page to help you choose which story that I have written you will choose next.
When you’ve read the story, I would really appreciate a short review at Amazon and Goodreads. Thank you so much!
