I’ve been invited to bring my three-day workshop,“A Personal Narrative: Rising Out of the Ashes” to the International Women’s Writing Guild in July, 2016!
For 38 years, this Guild has offered support to female authors, many of whom have spread their wings from moving through practicing the formulas to publication.
As a group, we can share knowledge all around. There is some little thing, a new technique, new tool, different idea, a trick that worked, a tip that didn’t work that has value for the established wordsmith and the budding ‘pen.’
As women, we know the story lies within the matriarch, yet often search for ways to release it when our time and energy seem to be devoured by our maternal responsibilities. There is not number to measure benefit of a group who understands that situation and has a box of life hacks permitting us to live AND write to share
As an author, I value readers highly, but also appreciate the sisterhood connection of other authors. I’ve enjoyed those who’ve faced the writing, publishing and managing life situations as I have. I’m blessed to be in a spot where I can be a trail blazer for both the legacy writers and the newer people who join the community at conferences. Those who take the lessons learned back to their local writing groups to share and apply to their own writing.
Readers need skilled writers to bring them the fulfillment of a well-told story.
IWWG offers support and shelter in a members only environment. There are some sample tastes of the beneficial community offered at the website; check the brochure/e-book containing a collection of memories from the 2012 Spring Big Apple Conference. If, dear lady, you are undecided about what IWWG can do for you, these are valuable resources to help with your decision. Don’t forget to subscribe to the newsletter. This missive contains IWWG news offers monthly updates and event announcements to add depth to your research about the value of membership.
Members enjoy the opportunity to grow at Regional and National Conferences. A new regional conference in Tampa, Florida has been added just this year to join the California Dreaming and Spring Big Apple get togethers. All building to the 39th Annual Summer Conference in July! Each conference includes workshops and time to digest and apply the wisdom shared.
Enjoy an interview with Myra Shapiro, poet and Susan Tiberghien, author. Tiberghein’s writing career is one of the launches stimulated by membership in IWWG when you visit the BLOG.
I will have more details about my upcoming experience as we move along toward that special date.
