I’m honored to have been included in an interview guest post with S. J. Francis at the “A Writer Writes Here” blog. The interview is entitled ” An Interview with Inspirational Author Joy Ross Davis
S.J.: Joy, will you tell us what do you love most about being a writer? Least?
Joy: What I love most about being a writer is simply being a writer, being able to tell the stories that come into my head and have people respond to them. I have to admit that the intense struggle of getting a story onto paper is worth it after reading one really good review!
What I like least about being a writer is simply not being able to make a living at it. Most of my stories are from 99¢ to $2.99 on Kindle now, with Countenance at $6.99. It takes an enormous amount of sales, given that I have an agent and publisher, to make money at writing.
I’m writing more all the time so that I have plenty to offer readers as I wasn’t kidding when I said in the interview that I would love to be able to earn my living doing something that I dearly love to do. Dear reader, I appreciate your support and ask that you tell your friends about the stories so they can get their copy, either in print or as an e-book. Some of my stories are part of a series. The series that I have written in are more like collections. There is a collection of stories — some longer than others — within one broad topic. Each author’s story is available as a single volume, usually priced at 99¢. When the collection/series is completed, the publisher also offers them as an entire collection and often in print as well as digital format.
