This banner (2.5 x 6 feet) will be going with us to decorate and announce the table where books will be displayed.
We’re anticipating the impressive Croke Park which is headquarters for the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA)and location for traditional Gaelic sports including football and hurling. (An Irish game resembling field hockey, played with a shorter stick with a broader oval blade. This national game of Ireland may date back to the 2nd millennium BC.).
The stadium where the Claddagh Author Event is being held has significant historic value for my ‘work-in’progress’. I’m expecting special inspiration from spending time there..
Croke Park was established in the 19th century and named in Honor of Archbishop Thomas Croke. The park is often called Croaker by GAA fans and locals.
Parris and I will NOT be playing football or waving hurling sticks for sport! Croke Park has a wonderful event program that has received many honors as one of the best facilities for events such as the Claddagh Author Event. I hope you enjoy some of the footage and images shown on the Croke Park website. There are links to the museum and historic side of this long-time favorite place in Dublin as well as modern video, images and news for the 21st Century.
Thank you for being loyal readers. I can’t stress more how much I appreciate you and hope you will tell your reader friends about my books so they can enjoy them too.
