Recently, I shared a true story with the blog at Helping Hands Press entitled Joy Ross Davis – “The Audition” – God led me there!
Long, long before I was determined to be an author, I loved the piano. My family says that it began when I was 3 years old and the love was strong enough to justify some pretty intense piano lessons.
When the lessons began, it was a known ‘law’ around the house that “Sister” (as I was known around the house) would be practicing classical piano for at least 3 hours every afternoon. I loved it and hit it harder on weekends.
At age eleven, my mom and aunt entered me into an adult competition at a local college. They pulled some amazing strings to get me entered, bought me some new clothing and I practiced harder. Some of the competitors thought I was the child of another competitor until I put the number placard around my neck! When I won the competition the older competitors were less than happy.
But the big ‘thing’ didn’t happen until I was a teenager and felt the call to turn from music to teaching, especially being an English teacher. At an audition before the Music Committee at college, as I prayed “Lord, help me get this right.” I had no vision of how that ‘right’ would come about and how I would be directed to this beautiful tag of Author!
Please read the rest of the story at Helping Hands Press and enjoy. If you are in a point of vision transition, trust and let the Lord lead you in the right direction for you…it does come. The Audition
